Birthday Highlights

Sierra has the best 2nd Birthday ever...almost. We had a fabulous day. Joe and I got to spend it with our little monkey. Check out the highlights: parks, museums, cakes, presents. Every kids dream come true.

We started the afternoon at Centennial Olympic Park. I thought it would be fun to play in the Olympic Foundtain. Water shoots up out of the ground and kids play in it. Good times to be had by all. I should have worn my bathing suit becuase I got soaked anyway and Sierra and I would have had alot more fun if I wasn't worried about getting wet. She wouldn't go into the fountains or run around by herself. I had to go. But the water has got to be a bit scary to a Little Bit like Sierra. There were kids everywhere and that freaked her out a bit today. EVERYWHERE.

Joe had fun videoing our apprehension as we surveyed the scene.

We had lunch after we finished roughing the masses and we got ready for the next event...the ImagineIT Children's Museum. Sierra was all decked out, complete with her "I'm 2!" button so everyone would know that it was her special day!

The museum was fun but a bit rowdy for my baby. She was the youngest one, by far, there running around and there were summer school groups there and day care centers and kids EVERYWHERE! Why are there so many kids everywhere!? Geez! It wasn't as cool as I thought it would be and we probably would have had more fun if we had some of Sierra's kid friends with us but we had a great time anyway. She may be a bit yound still for all the cool things the museum has to offer but she made a good effort at all the play stations. Of course we spent the most time in the supermarket/home section playing with our plastic food. Yummy! We packed our basket, we used the conveyor belt, we drove the grocery truck to deliver groceries. We did it all!

Sierra loves, Loves, LOVES to buckle her seatbelt so she kind of monopolized the truck. Some older kid tried to tell her to get out of the truck and got really nasty to her so she looked at him and said, "No boy! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and he left crying! My kid is awesome! Way to stand up for yourself in a lady-like manner Sierra!

She had a great time running all around and got only mildly frustrated when bigger kids ran into her. She got pushed, knocked down, and yelled at but that was nothing compared to the barrage of homeless people soliciting money from us on the way home. Yikes!

As we were leaving the museum we committed to the Peach Lady that we would only buy and eat Georgia peaches for the rest of the summer. We signed our life away and got a peach. Sierra was all smiles!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sierra!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday dear Me!
Happy Birthday to Me!

Sierra surprised me and woke up before I left for work so I snapped a few shots before heading out. I had put balloons in her room and in the living room and kitchen the while she slept so when she got up she just wanted to collect all her balloons and watch Blues Clues! (it's a treat to watch BC right when she wakes up because we don't like her to watch too much tv). So she curled up on the couch, gave me her best camera smile, and held tight to thos suckers!
Happy2nd Birthday Baby! We are in for a fun-filled day. Yeah for half days!

4th of July - Final Installment

We finished teh day with our besties at the Indian Hills Golf Club to watch the fireworks. Sierra was a champ last year with the fireworks and didn't freakout so I was excited to see how she was going to react to them this year.
We just relaxed, ate, played a little Boccii Ball, collected a few golf balls (Sierra), and waited for the main event.
Here's Cutie Bootie practicing her camera smile while sucking down an ice pop. Love those things. She shared with me. We had purple and blue. Yummy. There were a few sparkers, flares, ground fireworks going on around us from other attendees while we waited that Sierra got pretty stoked about however those got really old for her and by the time the real fireworks started she had just about had it. She barely watched them. I'm surprised she sat on my lap long enough to snap this foto. But she wasn't feelin' it at all. The funny thing is that for the entire week after the 4th she would say every day, "Mommy, I love fireworks!" Yeah right!

Patriotic Pool Party

Continuing all day strong all day long we jumped to the Foye's for a little splish splash in the pool. Sierra loves her some pool...and some chips, cupcakes, hot dogs, and cake. Silly baby!

We got together with our posse to play. The Beavers, Foyes, and Hutchisons. Good times were had by all. (Don't check out my husband ladies!!!!!!)

Sierra scoped the place out before deciding on what to do first...
EAT! She found a "donut" (icing covered cookie) and went to down. When I chased her down to wipe her up she ran into a corner and stuffed the whole thing in her mouth.

Even Joe got smerf fever and had a bite of the blue. Those suckers were good! I can't resist them either.

Blue, strawberry cupcakes followed poolside and Sierra ate them right off the deck. Crazy baby.

I couldn't resist putting this on here. Look at these little cheeks!

The highlight of my day was doing snakes! I love these things, always have. Sierra thought they were pretty cool. Everyone else thought they were stupid. Love them!

America the Beautiful

I love the 4th of July and now that Sierra is old enough to enjoy it I thought we would give the parade at the Marietta Square a whirl. I used to go there as a kid and remembered loving it so we hauled the fam, Ron, and Paul, Sarah and Mary along for the ride.
I realized the day before the 4th that I didn't have a patriotic outfit for Sierra. What kind of mother am I!? Geez! So I ran all over the place and found cutie little star shorts, a darling shirt and my favorite...sparkly shoes. Who cares if they don't fit exactly right, they are killer gorgeous. My baby is so stylish.
Sierra snagged a great seat, front row, on the parade round and got ready for the main event.

Her cohort in crime Mary was right there beside her.

We were all in place for the highly anticipated floats but more importantly, the candy! Love the candy!
Flag galor were handed out so here are our little Stars waving them proudly. (Sierra calls them Flaggits! No idea why but it's sort of funny hehehe. I think she mixes Wave It and Flag.

The girls watched all the floats, waved at all the beauty queens, teen misses, Tot princesses, veterans, trucks, and politicians. Sarah was getting frustrated when no one was throwing candy and left disappointed at the end. What kind of parades have street sweepers at the end when no one threw candy? Lame.

Joe chased this guy down in the middle of the street to get a good picture. He went after another solider but he almost sliced him down the middle with a confederate sword. For real.
Who knew that politicans ACTUALLY kissed babies?! Not me! It took some prodding from Joe, of course.

By the end of the parade Sierra was spent. We quickly recharged in the car and headed over to the Foye's for a sweet pool party. I'll get around to posting those sooner than later. Good times. I love holidays!
