Fun at Grandma's

Sierra has been having all kinds of fun at Grandma's lately. Today she and my neice Kari Bari had a pajama day but they ended up looking like lost little hobos. Gotta love my girl.

Dr. Seuss

Sierra is a little Dr. Suess fanatic since her birthday. Grandma Sue and Grampy got her a bunch of D.S. books so now she has the cuteness factor and the rhymes to go with it.
Her favorite is "Khaki the Hat" (Cat in the Hat). She swears that's his name and if you try to correct her, she gets really mad so...Khaki the Hat it is.
She just picked up this little number at the store with Daddy this week just to support her love of books.

Prima Ballarina

Sierra got all signed up for ballet this week and on Saturday we went to get her outfits for class. She has to wear a solid color leotard, pink tights and ballet slippers. She was adamant about having a purple leotard. She told me that from the day we signed her up until we got her clothes, 4 days worth of purple leotard talk. We ended up with two short sleeved leos; a purple one and a pink one as a back up. We came right home for a fashion show and Little Miss put on a show, with Daddy's help. Her first class is August 9 and her recital is in May so we'll keep you posted on her progress.

Love me some Groupon

Groupon is the greatest website in the world! Seriously! All the fun things we do come from Groupon. Our latest success is 4-weeks of art class at Gymboree for Sierra. She just finished art class so we were looking for something else for her to do to get out of the house this summer so why not a month of art class. Coolness!

You had a birthday, shout HOORAY!

My little lady turned three two weeks ago! I can hardly believe it. Check out the festivities.

And the best gift award goes to...Papa! Hungry, Hungry Hippo was by far the favorite of the night. Way played it for an hour! Two-fisting it with Natalie was the best part of her day!
Her party was just 2 short days after her real birthday. It is more for Mandy to plan something fun and outrageous. Sierra would be happy with just about anything but bigger is better...right? When Mandy would ask Sierra what she wanted for her party, all she would say is Pizza and ice cream. They decided on a butterfly theme for the event and they were all ready to go on the big day, they just had to wait for Sierra's friends to arrive. Poor thing waited, and waited and wait. Sawyer and Hunter were the first to arrive and then craziness ensued. We got a moon bounce/slide combo (Mandy's idea) and it was super sweet. The kids LOVED it.

These kids couldn't get enough.
We had 11 kids, all of Sierra's favorite friends. When we asked here a few days later what her favorite part of the party was she said, "Andrew!". He's 6 and she thinks he is so cool.

She's only three and already after older men.
Happy Birthday Baby!

Our Little Easter Bunny

We had a wonderful Easter with Joe's Grandma Alma and cousins in Franklin, NC. We made the short trip so we could spend time with Joe's Grandma and his brother David who came over from Columbia, SC. We brought her Easter dress so she could take pictures with Alma and her Daddy. Such a cutie. She loves dressing up! Her crazy hair even cooperated for the pictures.

Easter Egg Hunt Surprise

Sierra and I braved East Cobb Park Saturday to go see the Easter Bunny and go to an egg hunt. Basket in hand, we were ready! The plan was to run down the side of the field and start at the other end to get a head start on the eggs down there. Sierra was a champ and scored 6 eggs! She was thrilled with all the candy she got!

We had so much fun and its always good just to play with my girl.

Easter Bunny pictures soon to follow.

(don't even ask who this little girl is. She decided to smile when I said to Sierra, "Smile!"

Spring Flowers

Sierra and I got ambitious this weekend and, in taking advantage of the good weather, decided to plant some flowers for our doorstep. We took a little trip to Home Depot, where we ran into Grampy, and Sierra was so excited to have such a large selection to choose from. She giggled the entire time because she was so excited the decision was all her's (or so she thought). She was set on all purple flowers but I pursuaded her to mix it up a bit so we ended up with white snap dragons, pink tulips, and some other flower that I can't remember.

When we got home we pulled out the GIGANTIC bag of dirt (that says it will feed my plants for up to 4 months so hopefully they don't die) and realized we didn't have any shovels. Si ran into the house and produced two big kitchen spoons and we got to work.

We had three pots and with our little spoons it took us FOREVER to scoop all the dirt into the planters but we got filthy dirty and had a fabulous time doing it. Sierra didn't quite understand why we had to fill them up but she was fine with playing with the dirt. She switched spoons often because she thought mine was scooping more dirt than hers was.

When we had the pots full she patted down the dirt to make it even before we put the plants in. Her favorite part was pulling the flowers out of the plastic holders and squeezing the dirt and roots apart. She's grab onto them so tightly and make a funky face and say, "sssssqqqqqqqqqquuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzeeeeeeee", then put them in a pot. She's hilarious.

When we were all finished she stood up, held out her hands and said, "just look at the mess we have made!"

Great day with the Bug! Check you the fruit of our labor. It's been 5 days and they are still alive!

Dear Uncle Brian

About a month or so ago, Sierra and I had a little fun with paint and made paint footprints on paper just for kicks. We turned one of her foot masterpieces into a letter to her Uncle Brian who is serving a mission on Honduras. It went a little something like this:

Dear Uncle Brian,

"Happy Birthday" (even though it's not your real birthday) I really like birthdays. I just turned 2 1/2 on January 15. . I also wanted to say "Ugh" to you...just because.

Just in case you forgot about me, my favorite color is green eggs and ham. My favorite game is Matchy Match on mommy's iPhone. My favorite toy is my play kitchen. My best friend is not Goliath, it's Steve from Blues Clues.

I love spinning and doing twirls and practicing my "spits" (Splits - like Savannah). I'm the cutest baby my mommy knows and my daddy's "stinkin' Binkin'". I love Frosty the Snowman. My favorite thing to say is "Bah-be-ah" because no one knows what it means, not even me. When I put my flowery sunglasses on, I turn into Prince Charming from my favorite show Super Why.

I liked painting you a picture with my feet and I would like to do it again soon.

Love,
Sierra Jean Wafflehouse

Florida or Bust

Joe and Sierra left super early this morning for SPRING BREAK 2010! Florida or Bust. Before jumping on the highway Sierra informed her Daddy that she'd like some food so they made a quick Chick-fil-A run, at her request, and off they went. This baby really travels in style. She has everything she needs and her Daddy wrapped around her finger.
Have a great time guys! Don't think about me too much slaving away at work and going home to an empty house. =(

Conduct This!

Sierra went to her first music class at a local church. Just something fun for her and Joe to do during the week. He would probably be better at writing this post but I had to share the picture. Sierra volunteered to be the Conductor today. Apparently she had been playing 'shy' with the kids and there was only one lady that she would talk to so when that lady asked for a volunteer to be the Conductor, Si Si jumped at the chance.
